MORNING SESSIONS

Main Stage

10:30 – 10.40 am

  • Core intention setting, for those who missed your Wednesday intro: Imagination begins with perception.

10.40 am - 11.10 am

  • What if imagination begins with the simple words: I don’t know? In this opening keynote, neuroscientist Beau Lotto explores how imagination requires humility - the willingness to be wrong and to step beyond certainty. By changing how we enter each moment, from knowing to wondering, we open the door to new ways of seeing, thinking, and creating.

11.10 – 11.55 am

  • Storytelling has always been Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s way of making sense of the world and resisting the distance that turns people into “the other.”

Through film, she explores how stories shape who is seen, heard, and ultimately allowed to belong. Her work brings audiences into lives and experiences often kept at the margins, asking us to move beyond fear, stereotype, and division toward something more human: recognition.

For her, imagination is not an escape from reality, but a way of reimagining it — expanding empathy, challenging inherited narratives, and opening the possibility of seeing ourselves in one another.

An Academy Award-winning filmmaker, her work has consistently centered overlooked voices and communities, using storytelling to bridge worlds rarely invited into conversation with one another.

12 – 12.15 pm

  • Gio Israel is a filmmaker and storyteller, and the creator of SEEKERS, a cinematic exploration of human transformation, purpose, and meaning. Through deeply personal and culturally rich journeys, his work invites us to reflect on what it truly means to be human.

12.15 - 12.45 pm

  • What if the future of brain health lies in substances and states of consciousness we are only beginning to understand? In this conversation, Dr. Mark Hyman and Michael Pollan explore the re-emerging role of psychedelics - and ibogaine in particular - in reshaping how we think about addiction, healing, and neurological renewal. Drawing from both clinical insight and cultural inquiry, the exchange looks at how these compounds are challenging conventional models of brain health and opening new possibilities for transformation.
